Bark at the Park: A Day of Fun for Families and Their Pups

Prince and Brie, two fluffy Bichon Frise half-siblings, turned heads with their shiny, clean coats at the second annual Bark in the Park celebration at Castaic Lake. Their owner, David Brown, ensured they looked like “su-paw-stars” for the event.

According to the The Signal, the event, hosted by Friends of Castaic Lake in partnership with Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation, featured a variety of activities for dogs and their owners, including a 5k race, doggie talent shows, and an agility course. Families also had access to free services such as vaccines, microchipping, and pet adoption opportunities.

Emma Wright, a Castaic resident, completed the 5k race with her dogs, Rue and Dewey, who proudly wore gold medals. She enjoyed the event’s community spirit and the chance for her dogs to try new experiences like the agility course.

Seven-month-old Hazel, a mini schnauzer, was excited to meet other dogs of various sizes. Her owner, Glenda Warnock, had fun exploring the agility course with Hazel, even if some obstacles were too challenging.

The event also offered fun activities for children, such as face painting, crafts, and a bounce house, making it a delightful day for families and their four-legged friends.
