As reported by Lynnwood Today, Mona Foundation founder Mahnaz Javid shared how the foundation began in 1999 in Edmonds and has since grown to support 4.2 million students in 23 countries. Javid expressed her gratitude and invited attendees to the foundation’s 25th anniversary celebration.

Edmonds resident and organizer Shiva Ridell explained that the Move4Mona event started with a solo walk five years ago and has grown significantly since then. Ridell highlighted that 100% of donations go to those in need, making the event a meaningful way to contribute.

Edmonds Mayor Mike Rosen, who spoke at the event, emphasized the importance of education and the impact of the participants’ contributions. He praised the Mona Foundation’s focus on empowering individuals, especially girls, through education.

The event was a community effort, with raffle prizes donated by local businesses and sponsors such as Cascadia Art Museum, Café Louvre, and Yoga Sanctuary. Participants enjoyed the chance to support a good cause while getting fit and connecting with their community.
